The last 500 of each Oldsmobile model back in 2004 were all painted a unique Dark Cherry Metallic, and all had unique scripted Oldsmobile badges.

Still hoping the day GM would have a skunkworks division of some sort that will bring Oldsmobile and Pontiac back.

Hard to see them bringing Olds back, they kind of forgot what its purpose was. Pontiac could potentially return as the sportier make again.

The only reason to bring Olds back would be if they got ride of Buick. They always kinda of filled the same middle ground slot. And time went by they got less and less unique.

I always thought of Olds to Chevy what Buick was to Pontiac.
It used to be Pontiac/Buick/GMC, and Chevrolet/Oldsmobile.

I’d be okay with Olds and Pontiac coming back and Buick going away.

Would love to own a Final 500 Olds Aurora. The color just suits the car so well.

Maybee that’s a generational gap? In my mined Olds a Buick were always just better Chevys. But but when I was younger the cars that defined those brands, to me, were the Century, and Cutlass, which were both just nicer Chevy Celebrities.

Pontiac should be to Chevrolet what HSV is to Holden – a low-volume, strictly high-performance-only brand, basically an AMG to every car except the ‘Vette...
But that would make too much sense.

I was mostly raised during the later years of Oldsmobile, so I don’t remember much. But the only Olds dealer I remember was combined with a Chevrolet dealer, so that’s probably why I think that way.

I always thought that was a Canada thing, the “red” GM dealers for PBG, and the “blue” GM dealers for CO, with Cadillac usually paired with a red dealer.

That’s another weird thing. All the Caddy dealers in my city are in “Blue” dealers. But I’ve seen Caddy dealers with “Red” dealers too, and then there are a few dealers, especially in small towns, where they have a combination of Chevy/and Buick-GMC-Cadillac.

To be honest Chevy’s regular lineup is pretty meh, they out appliance’d Toyota there, nothing worth souping up. I rather have Pontiac take Cadillac’s table scraps for platforms, i.e. when Cadillac shifts to Alpha 2 and Omega, Pontiac gets old Alpha, put the a simplistic yet functional interior (read: “shitty plastic” interior as per the average non-car person), and price it lower. Think a volume, low-mid cost brand but outhandles a BMW. I mean that’s pretty much what the Chinese do these days to build their cars, table scrap platform, new body.

I think after the new GM thing and the dealer shutdowns, all the remaining dealers are just GM dealers who carry all brands. Which is kinda silly IMO, now you see GMC right next to Chevy Trucks on the same lot.

My home town dealer has everything, but Caddilac, that includes a few Vettes on a regular basis, but I guess they figure in my area where the average house hold income is 55k/year, and any one with money buys a truck, it doesn't make sense to try to sell Caddi.

Yeah theres a reason they were shut down and it was necessarily the cars, it was management not knowing what to do with them.

I have a huge soft spot for Oldsmobile, my first car was one, but not a one of the final lineup interests me in the least. I guess that says a lot about why Olds was the first to get chopped.

Cool. Was curious about them so I went on autotrader and found one...wasn’t expecting that.

Why oh why did they have to replace the Aurora rims with Grand Prix ones...

I know, it’s frustrating
